Skilled and Involved Youth

DESIRED OUTCOME:
Households have improved and sustainable income to meet their basic needs and ensure the well being of vulnerable children.
Goal:
a) To increase the attendance, completion and transition to higher levels of learning for boys and girls aged 6-14 years
b) To provide care and support to 4000 Orphaned Children with emphasis in psycho-social care to HIV – affected and other vulnerable children
c) To create awareness of youth on reproductive health

Emali Dedicated Children’s Agency (EDCA) aims at equipping youth with life skills and general knowledge on reproductive health. They are taught on safe sex and survival tactics. Other youths benefit from tertiary fees
Our Program Components
a) Formal Education
School fees and materials (e.g. uniform, sanitary packs, school bags, reading lamps) support; school performance monitoring and improvement; renovation of classrooms; facilitation of young mothers education.
b) Psychosocial Support and Recreation
Life skills child training; psychosocial support training for caregivers; children and youth events facilitation.

– Girls supported with sanitary towels
– Children supported to sit for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE)
– School management committee members trained on governance
b) Psychosocial Support and Recreation
– School children mentored and motivated
– Children trained on the Right of the Child
– Children facilitated to attend FORA to raise and discuss children issues

Target Group
Our target group is children and youth in ages between 6yrs and 14yrs.
